TFT Patch 18.4 Meta Report: Best Comps and Tier Changes

By PivotTFT · Updated 11 October 2026 · 8 min read

The state of Teamfight Tactics patch 18.4 on PivotTFT's tier lists: the strongest comps, items and augments, and every tier change the editors made during the patch.

What changed this patch

Riot moved power out of traits and into units in 18.4, and the first day of games at Master and above shows it. Riftbeast Reroll gained the most, from the Riftbeast (7) buff, and now places among the very best lines; Draven Fast 9, Rapidfire Aphelios, Rengar Master Yi Reroll and Cassiopeia Reroll join it in S. Veigar Reroll lost a little damage but still places in S.

The lines the patch cut fell the furthest: Ashe Fast 9 after the Ashe and Juggernaut nerfs, then Juggernaut Zyra and Caitlyn Reroll, with Warwick Reroll, Primal Nidalee, Tristana Rengar Reroll and Nidalee Sivir Amumu slipping too. The Solar and Lunar buffs lifted Lunar Kayle and Akali Camille Reroll into A, and Ezreal's buff did the same for Elderwood Ezreal and Executioner Ezreal Ahri.

Among the emblems, Elderwood rose to S with the stronger Elderwood (7), while Juggernaut, Hunter and Fae fell. These tiers come from the patch's first day, so expect them to move as more games come in.

What Riot changed in 18.4

Patch 18.4 (7 October 2026) is a big one. Riot moved power out of traits and the emblems that stretch them (Juggernaut, Executioner, Fae) and into units, buffed the 1 and 2-costs that had fallen out of the meta, and toned down the strongest reroll line, Veigar. Fights also start and end a second sooner each way.

Traits

  • Juggernaut Durability: 20/33/45% → 20/30/42%
  • Executioner (3/4) bleed: 30/40% → 25/35%
  • Fae AD and AP per Pixie: 5/8% → 4.5/7%
  • Lunar Ability Power: 7/10/14/18% → 7/12/16/20%
  • Blossom AD and AP: 12/30/45/50% → 12/30/50/55%
  • Riftbeast (7) growth every 5 seconds: 5% → 6%
  • Sprykin (7) Health and Attack Speed: 45% → 55%
  • Eclipse first execute: 10 seconds → 8 seconds

Elderwood (7) gets a stronger Deepwood Protector (mana 20/70 → 20/60, resists 65 → 70) while Elderwood (9) plants star up with less health, and Coven's 130 Essence cash-out pays less. Lunar's change is as Riot's notes give it; the game's own data shows the same numbers on Lunar's Attack Speed instead.

Champions

  • Buffed: Camille, Kobuko, Rakan, Xayah and Varus (1-cost); Gromp, Kayle, Shen and Teemo (2-cost); Mama Beak, Rengar and Tristana (3-cost); Brambleback, Ezreal, AP Nidalee and Sivir (4-cost); Draven and Solar Lux (5-cost).
  • Nerfed: Veigar, Hecarim (starting mana 30 → 50), three-star Rammus, AD Nidalee, Ivern's hexes and Kennen's shield.
  • Ashe and Draven now get part of their mana back when their Ability hits no one (70% and 50%). Ashe also starts with no mana and her trail deals 1.5% max Health damage instead of 2/3%, a nerf aimed at her unitemized form.
  • Solar Lux now always deals 15% bonus damage, plus 12% for each unique 3-star champion.
  • Veigar ability damage: 200/300/450/765 → 190/285/430/725
  • Tristana ability damage: 160/240/385 AD → 175/265/420 AD
  • Draven bleed: 140/210 AD → 150/225 AD
  • Kennen shield: 250/350 AP → 230/300 AP

Items and emblems

  • Crownguard Ability Power when the shield ends: 25 → 20
  • Spirit Visage Durability (Radiant): 8% (15%) → 10% (18%)
  • Elderwood Emblem resists: 35 → 25

Augments

  • Back in the game: Construct-A-Companion, Forge-A-Friend and Dark Ritual, which now gives less Ability Power per cash-out.
  • Buffed: Level Up! (10 XP at once instead of 6), Investment Strategy I and II, Luxury Subscription, Heart of Steel, Verticality II and III, Small Furry Friend and Dummify. Omega Riftbeast now also gives Alpha Riftbeasts 15% Health and 12% Attack Speed, and Min-Max and Pandora's Items II add 4 gold.
  • Nerfed: Trait Ladder's rewards (it had taken over the highest ranks), Component Quest's final gold (5 → 1), Explosive Growth+ (10 → 9 XP a round) and Bronze for Life II.
  • Chosen of the Sun moves from gold to silver, and Makeshift Armor I and II no longer show up at 2-1.

Wisps

  • Four new free Wisps (Drizzle, Grove Armor, Returning Friend and Room for a Shroom) can show from stage 4-1 to 5-7, only when you have less than 10 gold.
  • Below 20 health you are no longer offered the stat consumables, Golden Goose, Major Gambit or Barter, and Polymorph Wisps show only in the first 2 seconds of planning.
  • Backrow Star, Giant Growth, Killing Frenzy and Stealthy got stronger, Improved Reach cheaper, Forest Guide dearer and Mana Potion weaker.

What it means: boards that lean on a maxed trait plus emblems, above all Juggernaut (6), lose a little, while cheap reroll lines gain room: Solar (Kayle, Xayah, Rakan, Shen), Teemo, Tristana, and Mama Beak with Riftbeast (7). Veigar should still win with a strong start, just less often.

Best comps in patch 18.4

  • S Cassiopeia Reroll Reroll, Medium, level 7
Defender 6 around a three-star Cassiopeia: six tanks that barely die while she does the damage from behind, and Fiddlesticks turns on Flora Fatalis.
  • S Draven Fast 9 Fast 9, Hard, level 9
Draven and Ezreal on an Elderwood frame at level 9: Elderwood 3 with Alistar and Gnar, Executioner 3 with an emblem on Draven, and the late 5-costs in front.
  • S Flora Azir Reroll Reroll, Medium, level 7
Azir three-star with both Flora Fatalis units and Sprykin 3: Rammus holds the front, Fiddlesticks and Soraka turn the fight, and the Summoner soldiers do the rest. One of the best-placing boards of the patch.
  • S Invoker Ahri Morgana Fast 8, Medium, level 8
Invoker 4 keeps Ahri and Morgana casting nonstop behind Sett, Sentinel, Krug and Taric. Most games put an Invoker Emblem on Ahri: she is the fourth Invoker.
  • S Invoker Morgana Fast 8, Easy, level 8
Invoker 4 keeps Morgana casting while Sentinel, Hecarim and Diana hold the front, and Alune adds a second caster. It places well across the whole ladder, but a step lower at Diamond and above.
  • S Kha'Zix Reroll Reroll, Medium, level 7
Kha'Zix three-star isolates a target and deletes it, behind both Flora Fatalis units and Executioner 2: at high ranks the best-placing reroll of the patch.
  • S Nidalee Aphelios Fast 8, Medium, level 8
The most played board at Diamond and above, and one of the best placing: Nidalee and Aphelios share the damage behind a cheap, sturdy front of Amumu, Vi, Diana and Sentinel, with a pair of every trait they need.
  • S Rapidfire Aphelios Fast 8, Medium, level 8
Aphelios with Rapidfire 5 behind Amumu and Sentinel: a Rapidfire Emblem on Brambleback, which most games build, joins Varus, Xayah and Mama Beak. A level 8 board that wins on attack speed.
  • S Rengar Master Yi Reroll Reroll, Medium, level 7
Rengar and Master Yi at three stars carry together behind Vi and Sett; Blossom 3, Adaptor and Primal round out a board built from 3-costs.
  • S Riftbeast Reroll Reroll, Easy, level 5
Riftbeast 7 around two three-star 1-costs: Pebbles with Ability Power items and Cinderling with Attack Damage items carry behind Krug, Scuttlecrab and Sentinel. At level 9, Elder Dragon and Taric come in and Cinderling's items move to the Dragon.
  • S Veigar Reroll Reroll, Hard, level 5
Veigar three-star with Spellweaver 4 and Elderwood 3: his Ability Power ramps with every kill. It was one of the best-placing boards at high ranks in 18.3b, and 18.4 trimmed his damage a little.
  • A Akali Camille Reroll Reroll, Medium, level 5
A 1-cost reroll on Solar 3: Akali and Camille three-star dive the backline with Ravager while Ornn and Leona hold. Solar grows with every unique three-star, so this line wants several of them.
  • A Alune Fast 9 Fast 9, Medium, level 9
Vanguard 4 at level 9: Alune and Morgana cast from behind Sentinel, Taric, Hecarim and Diana, Diana turns on Lunar for Alune, and Lillia and Fiddlesticks add Defender 2. One of the best-placing level 9 boards of 18.4b.
  • A Blossom Ahri Fast 8, Easy, level 8
Blossom 5 with Ahri and Ashe carrying behind Sett and Vi: a smooth level 8 line when Blossom units come early, with Sivir and Zyra adding Hunter, Primal and Summoner.
  • A Elder Dragon Fast 9 Fast 9, Hard, level 9
The most played line of the patch: Draven and Elder Dragon at level 9, with Maokai, Amumu, Sentinel and Taric in front and Kennen and Ivern between. Elder Dragon takes two team slots and counts as two Riftbeasts, so he and Sentinel turn on Riftbeast 3. It places better at high ranks than below them.
  • A Elderwood Aphelios Fast 8, Easy, level 8
Six Elderwood units and the Elderwood Emblem most games put on Aphelios make Elderwood 7 at level 8: the plants, Stonebark Trees and a Lifebloom, come with the Deepwood Protector while Aphelios and Ezreal share the damage. One of the best-placing boards of 18.4b.
  • A Elderwood Ezreal Fast 8, Medium, level 8
Elderwood with Ezreal carrying: six Elderwood units at level 8 and seven once Gnar arrives, plus Flora Fatalis 2 from Soraka and Fiddlesticks. An Elderwood Emblem, which most games build, reaches Elderwood 7 a level early.
  • A Executioner Ezreal Ahri Fast 8, Medium, level 8
Executioner 4 with both Flora Fatalis units: Ezreal and Ahri deal the damage from behind Sett, Alistar and Ornn, and an Executioner Emblem on Ahri is the fourth Executioner.
  • A Flora Malphite Fast 8, Medium, level 8
Both Flora Fatalis units online make Soraka a raid boss; Malphite holds the front while Summoner 3 and Executioner 3 do the rest.
  • A Juggernaut Zyra Nidalee Fast 8, Easy, level 8
Juggernaut 6 with Nidalee in Sivir's place: Zyra's plants and an Ability Power Nidalee deal the damage while six Juggernauts soak it. It places close to the Sivir version and needs no 5-cost at level 8.
  • A Lunar Kayle Reroll, Hard, level 6
Kayle three-star on Solar 3 and Rapidfire 3, with Inferno 3 from Varus, Shen and Amumu, and Lunar 2 from Aphelios and Diana: the Lunar units beside Kayle speed her up while Leona, Sejuani, Shen and Amumu hold.
  • A Master Yi Reroll Reroll, Medium, level 7
Adaptor 3 and Blossom 3 around a three-star Master Yi, with Kog'Maw as the second carry; most games give Yi a Brawler Emblem, and artifacts make him far stronger.
  • A Riftbeast 10 Fast 9, Hard, level 10
Ten Riftbeasts at level 10: Elder Dragon counts as two, and Riftbeast 10 adds two team slots, so Taric and Gnar make a twelve-slot board. Every five seconds of every fight, the Riftbeasts grow.
