TFT Patch 18.2 Notes Summary: Cheaper Levels, Cheaper Wisps and a Big Buff Pass

By PivotTFT · Updated 9 September 2026 · 5 min read

Patch 18.2, released on 9 September 2026, was Set 18's first main patch. It set out to make late levels and expensive champions more reachable in a meta dominated by reroll, mostly by making levels and combat Wisps cheaper and buffing a long list of units. The 18.2b update on 14 September pulled some of that back.

Economy: cheaper levels and Wisps

  • XP from level 7 to 8: 60 → 56
  • XP from level 8 to 9: 68 → 64 (back to 68 in 18.2b)
  • XP from level 9 to 10: 68 → 64 (back to 68 in 18.2b)

Most combat Wisps also became 1 to 3 gold cheaper, and Polymorph Wisps can now only be the first Wisp of a planning phase.

What it means: reaching level 8 stayed permanently cheaper, which helps every fast 8 comp. The cheaper jumps to 9 and 10 were reverted within days because fast 9 boards full of legendary champions quickly became too strong.

Traits

  • Blackthorn: more health at (4) and (6), and bigger rewards for sacrificing casters and attackers.
  • Coven: cash-outs can now include Caitlyn copies, and the larger cash-outs pay much more gold.
  • Fae: every Golden Pixie arrives sooner (the first at 170,000 instead of 200,000).
  • Hunter: the damage bonus against a focused target now needs 3 seconds instead of 4, so it works against tanks.
  • Inferno burn up at the top breakpoints; Rapidfire attack speed per attack down at (3) and (4).
  • Solar: a slightly stronger early game but a weaker late game.

Champions

A broad buff pass across every cost, aimed at comps that had not been played:

  • Buffed: Akali, Leona and Varus (1-cost); LeBlanc, Kayle, Shen, Warwick and Yunara (2-cost); Azir, Diana, Kha'Zix and Mama Beak (3-cost); Ahri, Ezreal and AP Nidalee (4-cost); Ashe, Ivern, Kennen, Lux, Maokai and Taric (5-cost).
  • Nerfed: Master Yi in both forms and Rengar's attack speed (3-cost); Sentinel's shield, alongside a targeting fix; Zyra slightly.

Items, emblems and augments

  • Bloodthirster trigger health / AD and AP / shield: 40% / 15% / 25% max HP → 50% / 18% / 30%
  • Hand of Justice AD and AP / omnivamp: 15% / 12% → 18% / 15%
  • Edge of Night trigger health: 60% → 40%
  • Most emblems were weakened (Brawler, Fae, Hunter, Invoker, Juggernaut, Sprykin and Vanguard); the Primal emblem was strengthened.
  • Consuming Flora's emblem effect dropped from 200% to 150%, and it and several other augments became limited to one player per lobby.
  • Dark Ritual gained much more ability power from Coven cash-outs.

18.2b (14 September)

The follow-up targeted the comps the patch had made too strong: the level 9 and 10 costs went back up, and Camille, LeBlanc, Teemo, Ashe, Draven's bounty rewards and Maokai's mana were all nerfed. Brambleback's armour-ignore bug was fixed.
